Suzune Horikita is a first-year student of Advanced Nurturing High School, a prestigious institution that aims to cultivate the future leaders of society. She belongs to Class D, the lowest-ranked class in the school, where students are given fewer resources and privileges than the higher classes. Suzune’s goal is to reach Class A, the highest-ranked class, by any means necessary.
Suzune Horikita's Personality
Suzune Horikita is a cold and logical perfectionist, who values efficiency and results over emotions and relationships. She is intelligent, diligent, ambitious, and competitive, but also arrogant, prideful, and aloof. She does not trust anyone and prefers to work alone, believing that relying on others will only drag her down. She has a strong sense of justice and fairness, and dislikes cheating and dishonesty. She is also very stubborn and does not easily admit her mistakes or weaknesses.
Suzune’s personality is largely influenced by her upbringing and her relationship with her brother. She was born into a wealthy and influential family, where she was expected to excel in everything and follow the strict rules and standards set by her parents. She was constantly compared to her brother, who was a genius and a prodigy, and who always overshadowed her in every aspect. She developed an inferiority complex and a resentment towards her brother, who never acknowledged or praised her efforts. She also felt lonely and isolated, as she had no friends or companions to support her or understand her.
Suzune’s personality began to change when she enrolled in Advanced Nurturing High School and met Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, the protagonist of the series and her classmate. Kiyotaka is a mysterious and enigmatic boy, who hides his true abilities and personality from others. He is the only person who can see through Suzune’s facade and challenge her views and beliefs. He often helps her out in various situations, such as when she was framed for stealing a test paper, or when she was targeted by a group of bullies. He also encourages her to open up and cooperate with others, and to acknowledge her own feelings and emotions.
Suzune gradually develops a friendship and a mutual respect with Kiyotaka, and starts to rely on him more. She also begins to interact more with her other classmates, such as Kikyo Kushida, the class representative and a cheerful and friendly girl, who tries to befriend Suzune and help her socialize with others. Suzune initially rejects and distrusts Kikyo, but later learns to appreciate her kindness and sincerity. She also forms a rivalry and a bond with Kei Karuizawa, a popular and attractive girl, who is Kiyotaka’s partner and ally. Suzune and Kei often compete and argue with each other, but they also respect and support each other when needed.
Suzune’s personality also changes when she faces various challenges and obstacles in her quest to reach Class A. She learns to adapt and improvise, and to use her intelligence and skills to overcome the difficulties. She also learns to accept her flaws and limitations, and to seek help and advice from others when necessary. She becomes more confident and assertive, and more willing to take risks and make sacrifices. She also becomes more compassionate and empathetic, and more aware of the feelings and needs of others. She realizes that reaching Class A is not her only goal, and that there are other things that matter to her, such as her friends and her brother.
