Akito Sohma is the head of the Sohma family and the current God of the Zodiac, who has the power to bond with and control the twelve members of the Zodiac. She is also the only daughter of Ren and Akira Sohma, the former head of the family.

Akito Sohma's Personality

Akito Sohma is a complex and conflicted character, who exhibits traits such as arrogance, selfishness, insecurity, cruelty, loneliness, and vulnerability. She is often manipulative, abusive, and violent towards the Zodiac members, especially those who try to defy her or form relationships outside the family. She is also extremely misogynistic, showing little to no trust or respect for other women.

Akito’s personality stems from her upbringing and the circumstances of her birth. She was born as a girl, but her mother Ren convinced her father Akira to raise her as a boy, fearing that she would lose his love and attention otherwise. Ren also told Akito that she was not a real child, but a monster who would be rejected by everyone. Akira, on the other hand, loved Akito dearly and told her that she was special and destined to be the God of the Zodiac. He also made her promise to never leave him or let anyone take her away from him.

Akito grew up believing that she was a boy and the God of the Zodiac, who had the right and duty to keep the Zodiac members by her side. She also developed a strong attachment and dependence on her father, who was the only person who showed her unconditional love and acceptance. However, when Akira died, Akito was devastated and felt betrayed by him. She also felt threatened by Ren, who tried to take away her position and authority as the head of the family. Ren Sohma: Akito’s mother and the main source of her trauma and insecurity. Ren is a cold, cruel, and manipulative woman, who resents Akito for taking away Akira’s love and attention. She constantly belittles, insults, and torments Akito, and tries to undermine her authority and position as the head of the family. She also attempts to steal the box that contains Akira’s soul, which Akito cherishes as a symbol of her father’s love. Akito hates and fears Ren, and wishes to be free from her influence and control.
Akira Sohma: Akito’s father and the main source of her love and attachment. Akira was a kind, gentle, and loving man, who adored Akito and treated her as his precious daughter. He also told her that she was the God of the Zodiac, and made her promise to never leave him or let anyone take her away from him. Akito loved and idolized Akira, and saw him as the only person who understood and accepted her. However, when Akira died, Akito felt betrayed and abandoned by him, and became more obsessed with the Zodiac bond as a way of keeping him alive in her heart.
Shigure Sohma: Akito’s lover and the Dog of the Zodiac. Shigure is a cunning, sarcastic, and mysterious man, who has a complicated and twisted relationship with Akito. He claims to love Akito more than anyone else, and is the only person who can calm her down and make her laugh. However, he also manipulates and provokes Akito, and uses her as a means to break the Zodiac curse. He also cheats on Akito with Ren, which causes Akito to lash out at him and hurt him. Akito loves and hates Shigure, and is both attracted and repelled by him. She also fears that he will leave her or betray her, and tries to keep him under her control.
Kureno Sohma: Akito’s former lover and the Rooster of the Zodiac. Kureno is a loyal, kind, and selfless man, who was the first Zodiac member to break free from the curse. However, he chose to stay by Akito’s side out of pity and guilt, and became her confidant and caretaker. He also hid his true feelings for Arisa Uotani, a friend of Tohru, and sacrificed his own happiness for Akito’s sake. Akito loved Kureno, and saw him as her only friend and ally. However, she also took him for granted, and treated him as her possession and servant. She was shocked and hurt when Kureno decided to leave her and pursue his own life.
