Ritsu Kageyama is the younger brother of Shigeo “Mob” Kageyama. He is a middle school student who serves on the student council and excels in academics. He is also an esper, a person who can use psychic powers, but he discovers his abilities later than his brother.
Ritsu Kageyama's Personality
Ritsu is a quiet, smart, and polite young boy. He is respectful to his elders, helpful to his peers, and obedient to his parents. He is praised by everyone for being a model student and a normal kid. He is also loyal and caring to his brother, whom he admires and envies for his psychic powers.
Ritsu was born without any psychic abilities, unlike his brother Mob, who had them since he was a child. Ritsu felt inferior and frustrated by his lack of powers, as he believed that they were the only thing that made his brother special. He tried to compensate by studying hard and being good at everything else, but he still felt empty and dissatisfied. He also feared his brother’s powers, as he witnessed how they could cause destruction and harm to others.
Ritsu’s personality changed when he started to develop his own psychic abilities, triggered by the stress of the student council corruption. He was initially overjoyed and excited by his newfound powers, as he thought that he could finally be like his brother. He also met Dimple, a ghost who helped him control his powers by possessing him. However, Ritsu soon became corrupted by his powers, as he started to use them for immoral purposes. He became arrogant, aggressive, and rebellious, believing that he was better than most people. He also became distant and hostile to his brother, whom he saw as a rival and a threat.
Ritsu’s personality changed again when he realized the consequences of his actions. He was kidnapped by the 7th Division of Claw, an organization of evil espers who wanted to use him for their plans. He was tortured and experimented on by the Claw members, who tried to awaken his full potential. He also witnessed how his brother Mob came to rescue him, despite his previous mistreatment. He felt guilty and ashamed of himself, as he realized how much he had hurt his brother and others. He also felt grateful and proud of his brother, as he saw how strong and kind he was.
Ritsu’s personality stabilized after he escaped from Claw and reconciled with his brother. He decided to use his powers for good, and joined the Psycho Helmet Cult, a group of espers who followed Mob as their leader. He also became friends with Teruki Hanazawa, another esper who had a similar experience as him. He became more confident and happy, as he accepted himself and his brother for who they were. He also became more mature and responsible, as he learned from his mistakes and tried to make up for them. He still remained quiet and clever, but he also became more friendly and cheerful.
