Shigeo Kageyama, also known as Mob, is a middle school student who possesses immense psychic power, but tries to suppress it to live a normal life. He works as an assistant to Reigen Arataka, a self-proclaimed psychic, and helps him exorcise evil spirits and solve various problems.
Shigeo Kageyama's Personality
Mob is a kind, gentle, and reserved boy who values peace and harmony. He is humble, honest, and polite to everyone he meets. He is loyal to his friends and family, and willing to help those in need. He is also naive, gullible, and easily influenced by others, especially by Reigen, who often exploits his trust and innocence.
Mob was born with extraordinary psychic abilities that he could not control. As a child, he accidentally hurt people and caused destruction with his powers, which made him feel guilty and isolated. He decided to hide his emotions and restrain his powers, fearing that they would harm others or make him a monster. He also developed a low self-esteem and a lack of confidence, believing that he was nothing special despite his abilities.
Mob’s life changed when he met Reigen, who claimed to be a master psychic and offered to teach him how to use his powers. Mob was impressed by Reigen’s charisma and confidence, and agreed to work for him as his disciple. Although Reigen was a fraud who used Mob’s powers for his own benefit, he also gave Mob a sense of purpose and guidance, and taught him some valuable lessons about life and morality. Mob respected and admired Reigen, and followed his orders without question.
Mob also wanted to improve himself as a person, and not rely on his powers for everything. He joined the Body Improvement Club at his school, hoping to become stronger and more attractive. He had a crush on Tsubomi Takane, a girl he liked since childhood, but she never noticed him. He also befriended other espers, such as Teruki Hanazawa, Ritsu Kageyama, and Dimple, who had different views and experiences on their powers. He learned to accept and express his emotions more, and to stand up for himself and others.
Mob faced many challenges and enemies, such as the evil organization Claw, who wanted to use espers for world domination, and Toichiro Suzuki, a powerful and ruthless esper who claimed to be God. Mob fought against them with his full power, unleashing his true potential and showing his incredible strength and skill. He also showed his compassion and mercy, sparing and forgiving his foes, and trying to understand and help them. He realized that his powers were not a curse, but a gift that he could use for good.
Mob grew as a character, becoming more confident, assertive, and happy. He gained the respect and admiration of many people, including Reigen, who acknowledged him as his equal and friend. He also confessed his feelings to Tsubomi, who accepted him for who he was. He achieved his goal of living a normal life, but also embraced his powers and his uniqueness. He became a hero, a leader, and a role model for other espers and humans alike.
