Touka Kirishima Personality: A Practical and Independent Ghoul

Touka Kirishima is a female ghoul who works as a waitress at Anteiku, a coffee shop that serves as a safe haven for ghouls. She is also the older sister of Ayato Kirishima, the wife of Ken Kaneki, and the mother of Ichika Kaneki.

Touka Kirishima is a practical and independent person, who values her freedom and dislikes being controlled or restricted. She is also loyal, brave, and compassionate, especially towards her friends and family. She has a strong sense of justice and will fight against those who threaten or harm the people she cares about.

Touka grew up in a harsh environment, where she had to hide her ghoul identity and survive in a world that hated and hunted her kind. She lost her mother at a young age, and witnessed her father being captured and tortured by the CCG, a ghoul extermination organization. She developed a hatred and distrust towards humans, and became violent and rebellious, often clashing with her brother and her uncle, Renji Yomo.

Touka’s personality changed after she met Yoshimura, the owner of Anteiku, who taught her how to live peacefully among humans and ghouls. He also gave her a job and a place to belong, where she met other ghouls who became her friends, such as Hinami Fueguchi, Nishiki Nishio, and Shuu Tsukiyama. She learned to control her anger and impulses, and to respect and care for others, even humans. She also enrolled in a high school, where she befriended a human girl named Yoriko Kosaka, who became her best friend.

Touka’s personality was further influenced by her relationship with Ken Kaneki, a human who became a half-ghoul after receiving an organ transplant from Rize Kamishiro, a ghoul who attacked him. Touka initially disliked Kaneki, seeing him as a weak and cowardly person who did not accept his ghoul nature. She often mocked and scolded him, but also helped him adapt to his new life and taught him how to fight and use his kagune, a ghoul’s predatory organ. She gradually developed feelings for him, and became worried and protective of him, especially when he joined Aogiri Tree, a terrorist ghoul organization that opposed Anteiku.

Touka’s personality matured after the Owl Suppression Operation, a large-scale battle between the CCG and the ghouls, where she lost many of her friends and allies, including Yoshimura and Kaneki. She decided to live a normal life as a human, and opened a new coffee shop called :re, where she worked as the manager. She also attended a university, where she studied biology. She became more calm and gentle, but also more distant and lonely, as she missed Kaneki and hoped for his return.

Touka’s personality regained its warmth and happiness after she reunited with Kaneki, who had lost his memories and became a CCG investigator named Haise Sasaki. She helped him recover his memories and his identity, and supported him in his struggle against the CCG, Aogiri Tree, and V, a mysterious organization that controlled the world.
