Senku Ishigami is a 16-year-old expert chemist and science prodigy who was among the billions of humans to have their lives changed forever by the Petrification Event, a worldwide phenomenon where a mysterious green light turned all human beings to stone.
Senku Ishigami's Personality
Senku is a brilliant, curious, and ambitious young man who loves science and innovation. He is determined to restore humanity and its achievements using the power of science. He is confident, rational, and pragmatic, always relying on facts and logic rather than emotions or superstitions. He is also creative, resourceful, and adaptable, able to improvise and invent solutions to various problems and challenges. He is not afraid of risks or failures, as he sees them as opportunities to learn and improve.
Senku’s passion for science began when he was a child, as he was fascinated by the wonders of nature and the universe. He was inspired by his adoptive father, Byakuya Ishigami, who was an astronaut and encouraged him to pursue his dreams. Senku also inherited his father’s sense of humor and optimism, as well as his motto: "If you have time to think about a beautiful end, then live beautifully until the end".
Senku’s life changed drastically when he was petrified by the mysterious green light along with the rest of humanity. He managed to keep his consciousness alive by counting the seconds for 3,700 years, until he was revived by a drop of nitric acid. He found himself in a world where civilization had collapsed and nature had reclaimed the earth. He decided to use his scientific knowledge to create a revival fluid and bring back other humans, starting with his best friend, Taiju Oki.
Senku’s goal was to rebuild civilization and establish a Kingdom of Science, where science and technology would be used for the benefit of humanity. However, he faced opposition from Tsukasa Shishio, a powerful martial artist who wanted to create a new world order where only the young and pure would be revived, and the old and corrupt would be left in stone. Senku and Tsukasa clashed in a war of science versus might, where Senku had to use his intelligence and creativity to overcome Tsukasa’s brute force and charisma.
Senku also encountered other survivors who had formed their own societies and cultures in the Stone World. He befriended the people of Ishigami Village, a small community of descendants of his father and the other astronauts who had escaped the petrification. He helped them improve their living conditions and defend themselves from external threats, such as the Tsukasa Empire and the Petrification Kingdom. He also married Ruri, the village priestess and his father’s great-granddaughter, in order to become the village chief and access the Hundred Tales, a collection of stories and clues left by his father.
Senku’s ultimate ambition was to find the origin and the cause of the Petrification Event, and to undo its effects on the entire world. He embarked on a voyage across the globe, following the signals of a mysterious device that could petrify and depetrify people at will. He also aimed to revive all the humans who had been turned to stone, regardless of their age, background, or ideology. He believed that every human life had value and potential, and that science was a universal language that could unite and empower humanity.
