Nico Robin is the archaeologist of the Straw Hat Pirates, a group of adventurers who travel the world in search of the legendary treasure One Piece. She is the seventh member of the crew and the sixth to join, doing so at the end of the Arabasta Arc. She is also the only known living person in the world who can read and decipher Poneglyphs, ancient stones that contain the true history of the world. She is often called the “Devil Child” by the World Government, who considers her a threat to their authority and wants to capture her at all costs.

Nico Robin's Personality

Nico Robin is a calm, mature, and intelligent woman who has a dark and dry sense of humor. She is also very curious and loves to learn new things, especially about history and culture. She is loyal to her friends and allies, but can be ruthless and cold to her enemies. She is not easily frightened or intimidated, and can handle stressful and dangerous situations with grace and composure. She is also very resourceful and adaptable, using her Devil Fruit powers and her vast knowledge to overcome various challenges and obstacles.
Nico Robin was born on the island of Ohara, a place renowned for its scholars and archaeologists. She inherited her mother’s passion and talent for archaeology, and learned to read Poneglyphs at a very young age. She also ate the Hana Hana no Mi, a Devil Fruit that gave her the ability to sprout replicas of her body parts on any surface at will. However, her life was not happy or peaceful, as she was ostracized and feared by the people of Ohara, who believed that she was a demon and a curse. She also rarely saw her mother, who was away on a research mission for most of her childhood.
When she was eight years old, her life changed dramatically when the World Government attacked Ohara and destroyed it with a Buster Call, a massive bombardment that wiped out the entire island and its inhabitants. Robin was the only survivor, thanks to the sacrifice of her mother and the help of a vice admiral named Jaguar D. Saul, who was also a friend of her mother. Saul told her to live and find true friends who would accept her for who she is. He also gave her his signature laugh, “Dereshishishi”, which she would adopt as her own. Robin then became a fugitive, wandering from place to place and joining various organizations and groups, such as Baroque Works, Crocodile’s criminal syndicate. She never stayed in one place for too long, and never trusted anyone, as she was constantly hunted and betrayed by the people around her. She also developed a habit of saying “I want to live” whenever she was in a life-threatening situation, as a way of affirming her will to survive.
Her life changed again when she met Monkey D. Luffy, the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, and his crew. She initially joined them as an ally, helping them to defeat Crocodile and save the kingdom of Arabasta. She then decided to join them as a crew member, seeing them as the first people who ever treated her kindly and accepted her for who she is. She also saw in Luffy the potential to become the Pirate King, the person who would reach the end of the Grand Line and discover the truth of the world. She became more open and cheerful, and developed a strong bond with her new friends. She also became more interested in the dreams and goals of her crewmates, and often helped them to achieve them.
However, her past still haunted her, and she was eventually captured by the World Government, who planned to use her to revive an ancient weapon called Pluton, one of the three weapons that could destroy the world. She decided to sacrifice herself for the sake of her crew, believing that they would be better off without her. She also believed that she had no right to live, and that she was destined to die alone. However, Luffy and his crew refused to abandon her, and launched a daring rescue mission to save her from the clutches of the government. They fought their way through the judicial island of Enies Lobby, and faced off against the powerful agents of the Cipher Pol 9, a secret intelligence organization. They also declared war on the World Government, and burned their flag, a symbol of their authority and sovereignty. They reached Robin, who was on the verge of being executed, and Luffy asked her what she wanted. Robin then realized that she wanted to live, and that she wanted to stay with her friends. She shouted out her true feelings, and Luffy and his crew vowed to protect her and take her back. They then managed to escape from Enies Lobby, with the help of their allies and friends. Robin then thanked Luffy and his crew for saving her, and reaffirmed her loyalty and gratitude to them. She also regained her confidence and self-worth, and decided to pursue her dream of finding the Rio Poneglyph, the final and most important Poneglyph that contains the true history of the world.
Since then, Robin has continued to travel with the Straw Hat Pirates, and has participated in many of their adventures and battles. She has also learned more about the world and its history, and has encountered many people and places related to the Poneglyphs and the Void Century, the mysterious period of history that the World Government erased from the public records. She has also faced many enemies and threats, such as the Warlord Gecko Moria, the Marine Admiral Aokiji, the tyrant Donquixote Doflamingo, and the Emperor Big Mom. She has also made many friends and allies, such as the Revolutionary Army, a group of rebels who oppose the World Government and its corruption, and the Mink Tribe, a race of animal-like people who live on the island of Zou. She has also grown stronger and more skilled, both physically and mentally, and has improved her Devil Fruit powers and her combat abilities. She has also developed a deeper understanding and appreciation of her crewmates and their dreams, and has shown more of her emotions and personality. She has also become more involved and invested in the events and conflicts that shape the world, and has expressed her desire to see the dawn of the world, a new era of freedom and peace.
