Saitama is the main protagonist of the series and the titular One-Punch Man. He is a superhero who can defeat any enemy with a single punch, but his unmatched strength has left him bored and disillusioned with the world. He performs heroic deeds as a hobby, without any recognition or reward from the public or the Hero Association. He is also a mentor to Genos, a cyborg who seeks revenge against the one who destroyed his hometown.
Saitama's Personality
Saitama is a laid-back, indifferent, and apathetic person who does not care much about anything. He is often seen with a blank expression on his face, and rarely shows any emotion. He is also sarcastic, humorous, and sometimes rude to others, especially to those who annoy him or underestimate him.
Saitama was once a normal human who worked as a salaryman, but he was unhappy with his life and felt that he had no purpose. He decided to become a hero after saving a child from a monster, and trained himself for three years until he became bald and gained immense power. However, he soon realized that his strength made him invincible, and he lost his passion and excitement for fighting. He also became isolated from society, as he had no friends or family to share his life with.

Saitama’s personality has shown some signs of development throughout the series, as he has gradually formed bonds with some of the other characters, such as Bang, King, Fubuki, and Mumen Rider. He has also shown moments of compassion, kindness, and heroism, such as when he spared the life of a monster who had a change of heart, when he comforted a child who was bullied, and when he defended the Earth from a powerful alien invasion. - Genos: Saitama’s disciple, partner, and roommate. Genos admires Saitama’s strength and follows his every word and action, even though Saitama does not teach him anything useful. Saitama considers Genos a friend, but he is often annoyed by his long speeches and his reckless behavior. He also does not understand Genos’s obsession with revenge and justice, and tries to make him more relaxed and carefree. Despite their differences, they have a mutual respect and trust for each other, and often work together to fight monsters and villains.
- King: Saitama’s neighbor and fellow hero. King is considered the strongest man on Earth, but he is actually a coward who takes credit for Saitama’s feats. Saitama knows the truth, but he does not expose him, and instead befriends him. Saitama enjoys playing video games with King, and often visits his apartment. King is grateful to Saitama for his kindness and friendship, and often gives him advice and support. He also respects Saitama’s power, and fears his wrath.
- Bang: Saitama’s senior and fellow hero. Bang is a martial arts master and the leader of the Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist school. He recognizes Saitama’s potential and invites him to join his dojo, but Saitama declines. Bang respects Saitama’s strength and personality, and often defends him from the criticism of the other heroes. He also tries to teach him some martial arts techniques, but Saitama does not show much interest. Bang is one of the few heroes who acknowledges Saitama’s achievements, and considers him a friend and an ally.
- Fubuki: Saitama’s junior and fellow hero. Fubuki is a psychic and the leader of the Blizzard Group, a faction of low-ranked heroes. She tries to recruit Saitama into her group, but he refuses. Fubuki is impressed by Saitama’s power and charisma, and develops a crush on him. She also becomes jealous of his relationship with Genos and Tatsumaki, her older sister and rival. She often visits Saitama’s apartment, and tries to get closer to him. Saitama is indifferent to Fubuki’s advances, and treats her as a friend. He also encourages her to be more confident and independent, and to pursue her own goals.
- Mumen Rider: Saitama’s junior and fellow hero. Mumen Rider is a bicycle rider and a C-Class hero. He is a brave and noble hero who fights for justice, even though he is weak and powerless. He admires Saitama’s strength and courage, and considers him a role model. He also supports him in his battles, and cheers for him. Saitama respects Mumen Rider’s spirit and determination, and praises him for his efforts. He also saves him from danger, and helps him recover from his injuries.
