Tatsumaki is the S-Class Rank 2 professional hero of the Hero Association and the older sister of Fubuki. She is an esper with extraordinary psychic powers and one of the most powerful heroes in the world. She is also known by her hero alias Tornado of Terror.

Tatsumaki's Personality

Tatsumaki is a petite woman with a youthful face and green curly hair. She is often mistaken for being much younger than she really is, which annoys her greatly. She has a rather brash, moody, hotheaded, and impatient personality. She is disrespectful towards most people, especially to those she deems incompetent or impertinent. She is extremely confident in her strength and does not hesitate to use her powers to assert her dominance or to punish those who annoy her. She is also very stubborn and rarely listens to anyone's advice or orders, preferring to do things her own way.
Tatsumaki's personality stems from her traumatic childhood, when she was taken away from her adopted family at the age of seven by a group of scientists who wanted to study her powers. She was treated as a test subject and locked up in a cell, where she was denied any freedom or affection. She was only rewarded with candy and toys for cooperating, but she secretly held back her powers so that the scientists would deem her useless and let her go. She was also heartbroken by her parents for selling her out and felt betrayed by the world.
When she was 10, a monster outbreak occurred while she was still locked in a cell, leaving her alone to fend off the monster. She was saved by Blast, the S-Class Rank 1 hero, who introduced himself to her and questioned her on why she didn't use her powers to save herself. He realized that she was lying and gave her advice to not expect anyone to save her next time, and to be strong to protect her only family, her little sister Fubuki. He also gave her a toy robot as a gift, which she cherished as a symbol of hope and strength.
Tatsumaki's encounter with Blast had a profound impact on her personality, as she developed a strong admiration and respect for him, as well as a desire to become stronger and independent. She also became very protective and controlling of her sister, whom she considered as her only family and friend. She wanted to keep her away from any danger or harm, and also from any influence that could make her weak or dependent on others. She often interfered with her sister's affairs and tried to make her quit the Hero Association, believing that she was not cut out for being a hero.
Tatsumaki's personality also made her isolated and lonely, as she had difficulty making friends or trusting anyone. She believed that she was superior to everyone else and that no one could understand her or match her level. She also had a sense of duty and obligation to defeat monsters and protect the world, as she felt that it was her responsibility as a hero and as a powerful esper. She often sought out monsters to fight in her own time, as she enjoyed the thrill and challenge of combat. She also had a bit of a playful and childish side, as she liked to tease and mock her opponents and sometimes acted on her whims and impulses.
Tatsumaki's personality changed slightly after she met Saitama, the protagonist of the series and a hero who can defeat any enemy with one punch. She initially dismissed him as a weak and bald hero who was unworthy of her attention, but she gradually became curious and intrigued by him, as he was able to withstand her psychic attacks and even damage her barrier. She also witnessed him defeat powerful enemies that she had trouble with, such as Boros and Psykos. She developed a grudging respect and admiration for him, as well as a hint of attraction and jealousy. She also started to question her own strength and role as a hero, as she realized that there was someone stronger than her and that she was not invincible.
Tatsumaki's personality also softened a bit after she reconciled with her sister, whom she had a strained relationship with for a long time. She apologized to her for being overbearing and harsh, and admitted that she cared for her and wanted her to be happy. She also accepted her sister's decision to be a hero and to have her own friends and allies. She also showed a more vulnerable and emotional side, as she cried and hugged her sister, expressing her fear of losing her. She also opened up to her about her past and her feelings for Blast, revealing a more human and relatable side of her.
