C.C. (pronounced C2) is an immortal woman (called witch by various characters) and the one who gives Lelouch vi Britannia his Geass, the power of absolute obedience. She becomes his ally and protector, as well as his love interest in the alternate universe of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Resurrection. She is mysterious, sardonic, and secretive, but also loyal, compassionate, and selfless.

C.C's Personality

C.C. is a character, who often acts aloof and indifferent to the events around her. She is cynical, sarcastic, and sometimes cruel, but also has a softer side that she rarely shows. She is very intelligent and knowledgeable, having lived for centuries and witnessed many historical events. She is also skilled in combat and piloting Knightmare Frames, the mecha used in the series.
C.C.'s character stems from her tragic and lonely past. Born in an unknown era, likely during the Middle Ages, she experienced a harsh life as a slave to a noble family. Her life was marked by abuse and neglect, devoid of friends or family. Yearning for love and affection, she accepted a Geass contract, hoping it would bring her the love she desperately sought. Yet, this power proved to be a curse, leaving her with the realization that love directed at her was not genuine, but a product of her Geass. Moreover, she gained immortality, condemned to see everyone she cared about perish. The burden of her powers led her to end the life of the nun who had given her the Geass, thereby inheriting the mantle of the Geass Order's leader and the Code, the root of immortality and Geass.
Her eternal life and Geass left C.C. with a cynical and detached demeanor. She embraced a nihilistic outlook, seeing no meaning or value in life. Boredom and weariness from her long existence drove her to seek an end to her immortality. Indifferent to consequences, she often manipulated and betrayed others for personal gain. Pizza became her solace and a minor source of joy.
Meeting Lelouch, the series' main protagonist, marked a turning point in C.C.'s personality. She granted him Geass, hoping he would be the key to ending her life. Yet, his ambition, intelligence, and charisma captivated her. Choosing to align with him, she aided in his endeavors despite their frequent conflicts. Gradually, she revealed more about herself and grew more expressive and warm, hinting at deeper feelings for Lelouch.
Her loyalty and compassion shone through in her interactions with Lelouch and his circle. She repeatedly risked her life for Lelouch and made significant sacrifices to protect him and those close to him, like Nunnally, Kallen, and Suzaku. Despite occasional disagreements with Lelouch's methods, she admired his ideals and supported his vision for a better world. In the end, she honored his sacrifice for peace by choosing to live on, upholding his legacy.
C.C.'s feelings towards her immortality and Geass were ambivalent. While they brought her immense pain and loneliness, they also offered unique experiences and connections, especially with Lelouch and other Geass users. Over time, she learned to accept her fate, choosing to live and seek happiness. She embraced her powers, using them for benevolent purposes and sharing them selectively, as with Lelouch in an alternate universe, where their bond deepened.
