Tanjiro Kamado is the main protagonist of the anime/manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a teenager who goes on a quest to become a Demon Slayer to help his sister, Nezuko, who was turned into a demon after his family was killed by Muzan Kibutsuji, the first and most powerful demon. He is a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, an organization that fights against demons who prey on humans. He also seeks to find a cure for Nezuko and avenge his family by killing Muzan. He is the wielder of the Water Breathing and the Sun Breathing, two of the most powerful sword techniques that can kill demons.

Tanjiro is a kind-hearted, compassionate, and courageous young man who values human life and respects the feelings of others. He is loyal, honest, and humble, always willing to help those in need and learn from his mistakes. He is also determined, resilient, and optimistic, never giving up on his goals and overcoming any obstacle with his hard work and perseverance.

Tanjiro was born into a poor but happy family of coal burners who lived in the mountains. He was raised by his loving parents, Tanjuro and Kie, who taught him the importance of kindness and gratitude. He also had five younger siblings, Nezuko, Takeo, Hanako, Shigeru, and Rokuta, whom he cared for and protected. He was a cheerful and friendly boy who enjoyed making friends and selling charcoal in the nearby village.

Tanjiro's life changed drastically when he returned home one day and found his entire family slaughtered by a demon, except for Nezuko, who was turned into a demon herself. Tanjiro underwent a grueling training regimen to become a Demon Slayer, enduring physical and mental challenges that tested his limits. He also faced many dangers and enemies in his missions, such as the Hand Demon, the Swamp Demon, the Spider Family, and the Twelve Kizuki, the strongest subordinates of Muzan. He also learned more about the history and secrets of the Demon Slayer Corps, such as the existence of the Sun Breathing, the original and most powerful sword technique that can destroy any demon, and the connection between his family and the first user of the Sun Breathing, Yoriichi Tsugikuni.

Tanjiro developed his skills and abilities as a Demon Slayer, mastering the Water Breathing and learning the Sun Breathing from the memories of his ancestors. He also forged strong bonds and friendships with his fellow Demon Slayers, such as Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, Kanao Tsuyuri, and the Hashira, the elite members of the Demon Slayer Corps. He also encountered many demons who had tragic pasts and regrets, such as Tamayo, Yushiro, Kyogai, and Rui, and showed them compassion and mercy, even praying for their souls after killing them.

Tanjiro's ultimate goal was to find a way to turn Nezuko back into a human and to kill Muzan, the source of all demons. He discovered that Muzan had a blood curse that prevented anyone from harming him, and that Nezuko was the key to breaking the curse, as she had developed a resistance to Muzan's blood. He also learned that Muzan was the one who killed his father and gave him the earrings that symbolized the Sun Breathing. He confronted Muzan in a final battle, along with the surviving Demon Slayers and Nezuko, who had regained her humanity. He managed to defeat Muzan with the help of his friends and the spirits of his ancestors, but he was also turned into a demon by Muzan's last-ditch attempt to survive.

Tanjiro, as a demon, went on a rampage and attacked his friends, but he was able to resist Muzan's influence and regain his consciousness, thanks to the memories of his family and the love of his sister. He was then turned back into a human by a medicine created by Tamayo, a demon doctor who was an ally of the Demon Slayers. He survived the ordeal and fulfilled his dream of living a peaceful life with Nezuko and his friends. He later married Kanao, a fellow Demon Slayer and the adoptive sister of Shinobu Kocho, one of the Hashira who died in the battle against Muzan. Relationships

Nezuko Kamado: Tanjiro's younger sister and the only surviving member of his family. She was turned into a demon by Muzan, but she retained her human emotions and memories. Tanjiro loves her dearly and vows to protect her and find a cure for her. She eventually becomes human again and lives happily with Tanjiro and their friends. She marries Zenitsu, becoming Tanjiro's brother-in-law.
Zenitsu Agatsuma: Tanjiro's friend and fellow Demon Slayer. He is a cowardly and nervous young man who has a hidden talent for the Thunder Breathing. He initially disliked Tanjiro, but he later became his loyal friend and ally. He also developed a crush on Nezuko and often argued with Inosuke over her. He loses his right eye and left arm in the final battle, but survives and marries Nezuko.
Inosuke Hashibira: Tanjiro's friend and fellow Demon Slayer. He is a wild and aggressive young man who was raised by boars. He wears a boar's head as a mask and wields two serrated swords. He is very proud and competitive, and often challenges Tanjiro to fights and contests. He also developed a bond with Nezuko and often argued with Zenitsu over her. He loses his voice in the final battle, but survives and becomes a travel writer.
Kanao Tsuyuri: Tanjiro's friend, fellow Demon Slayer, and future wife. She is a beautiful and stoic young woman who was adopted by Shinobu Kocho, one of the Hashira. She is very skilled and proficient in the Flower Breathing. She also has a coin that she uses to make decisions, as she has difficulty expressing her own will and emotions. She is impressed by Tanjiro's kindness and determination, and gradually develops feelings for him. She loses her right eye in the final battle, but survives and marries Tanjiro.
