Kento Nanami is a former student of Tokyo Jujutsu High and a grade 1 jujutsu sorcerer. He is a mentor to the protagonist, Yuji Itadori, and a reliable ally to his fellow sorcerers.
Kento Nanami's Personality
Nanami is a very diligent and wise kind of man, who takes his job as a jujutsu sorcerer seriously and professionally. He is calm and reserved, often appearing stoic and aloof. He is blunt and straightforward in most conversations, and does not care for impractical optimism or vague questions. He is also quick to express his irritation, either verbally or with his facial expressions.
Nanami’s personality was shaped by his experiences as a student and a worker. He attended the jujutsu college, where he was an underclassman of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto. He had a close friend, Yu Haibara, who died on a mission that was more difficult than they expected. Nanami was traumatized by this event, and decided to quit being a jujutsu sorcerer after graduating. He then worked as a salaryman, but found that the job only cared about money and did not give him any satisfaction. He also witnessed the suffering of ordinary people caused by cursed spirits, and felt guilty for abandoning his duty as a sorcerer.
Nanami eventually returned to being a jujutsu sorcerer, after helping a baker who was troubled by a cursed spirit. He realized that he could make a difference in the world by using his skills and knowledge as a sorcerer. He also developed a personal philosophy, based on the ratio of 7:3, which he uses to divide his work and life, as well as his technique and power. He believes that anything that exceeds 7 out of 10 is not worth pursuing, and that he should focus on the things that are within his reach and control.
Nanami is a very capable and experienced jujutsu sorcerer, who specializes in using a blunt sword and a cursed technique called Ratio. He can create weak points on his opponents by dividing their body parts into ratios of 7:3, and then strike them with his sword to inflict fatal damage. He is also very skilled in hand-to-hand combat, curse manipulation, and barrier techniques. He is respected and trusted by his peers and superiors, and often assigned to important and dangerous missions.
Nanami is also a good mentor and teacher, who guides and supports Yuji Itadori, the main protagonist of the series. He initially disapproved of Yuji, who was a vessel for the powerful and evil cursed spirit Sukuna, but later recognized his potential and courage. He taught Yuji how to see remnants, how to use his cursed energy, and how to fight against cursed spirits. He also gave him advice and encouragement, and protected him from harm. He developed a close bond with Yuji, and even considered him as his junior.
Nanami is not without flaws, however. He can be very stubborn and rigid, and sometimes refuses to accept help from others. He can also be very pessimistic and cynical, and often doubts the meaning and value of his work as a jujutsu sorcerer. He has a low opinion of himself, and does not think that he deserves happiness or praise. He also has a tendency to work overtime, despite his philosophy of 7:3, and often puts himself in danger without regard for his own safety.
Nanami’s personality is a reflection of his struggle and growth as a jujutsu sorcerer and a human being. He is a diligent and wise man, who tries to do his best in his job and life, but also faces many challenges and doubts. He is a loyal and reliable ally, who helps and cares for his friends and colleagues, but also has his own weaknesses and regrets. He is a complex and realistic character, who adds depth and nuance to the story of Jujutsu Kaisen.
