Toji Fushiguro is the father of Megumi Fushiguro, one of the main protagonists, and a former member of the Zenin clan, one of the three great families of jujutsu sorcerers. He is also known as the Sorcerer Killer, a notorious contract killer who specializes in hunting down and killing other jujutsu sorcerers, even those who are considered the strongest in the world.

Personality

Toji is a cool-headed, confident, and pragmatic man who makes a living using his skills and does not sweat the small stuff. He appears to enjoy insightful conversation with others as long as it somehow pertains to himself and can trade witty banter with the highly sarcastic likes of Satoru Gojo, his former classmate and rival.

Toji is also a very ruthless and merciless person who does not hesitate to kill anyone who stands in his way or threatens his freedom. He has no loyalty to anyone, not even his own family, and will betray or abandon them if it suits his interests. He does not care about the consequences of his actions, nor does he feel any remorse or guilt for his victims. He is driven by his own selfish desires and will stop at nothing to achieve them.

Toji’s personality stems from his origins as a member of the Zenin clan, a family that values cursed energy and jujutsu techniques above all else. Toji was born with a heavenly restriction, a condition that grants him immense physical abilities in exchange for having no cursed energy at all. This made him an outcast and a failure in the eyes of his clan, who treated him with contempt and disdain. Toji grew up feeling oppressed and suffocated by the clan’s rules and expectations, and developed a strong hatred and resentment towards them.

Toji’s life changed when he met a woman who was not a jujutsu sorcerer, but a normal human. He fell in love with her and decided to leave the Zenin clan with her. They had a son, Megumi, whom Toji hoped would inherit his heavenly restriction and be free from the curse of cursed energy. However, Megumi was born with a large amount of cursed energy, much to Toji’s disappointment and anger. Toji felt betrayed by his lover and his son, and abandoned them both. He then became a contract killer, using his skills and heavenly restriction to hunt down and kill jujutsu sorcerers, especially those from the Zenin clan.

Toji’s only goal in life was to be free from the shackles of cursed energy and the jujutsu world. He believed that cursed energy was the source of all evil and suffering, and that those who possessed it were doomed to be manipulated and exploited by others. He also believed that his heavenly restriction was a gift that allowed him to transcend the limits of humanity and become a superior being. He did not care about the balance of the world or the threat of curses, as long as he could do whatever he wanted and live by his own rules.

Toji’s personality changed slightly when he encountered his son, Megumi, again during the Shibuya incident. He realized that Megumi had grown up to be a strong and independent jujutsu sorcerer, who had inherited his will and determination. He also realized that Megumi had a unique and powerful technique, the Ten Shadows, that could potentially change the world. Toji decided to entrust his son with his legacy and his freedom, and sacrificed himself to save him from Sukuna, the King of Curses. He also expressed his pride and affection for Megumi, and apologized for his past mistakes.

Relationships

Megumi Fushiguro: Toji’s son and the only person he ever cared about. Toji initially abandoned Megumi when he was a baby, because he was born with cursed energy and did not inherit his heavenly restriction. He also sold Megumi to the Zenin clan, hoping that they would kill him or make him suffer. However, he later regretted his actions and came to respect and love Megumi for his strength and potential. He sacrificed himself to protect Megumi from Sukuna, and entrusted him with his freedom and his technique.
Zenin clan: Toji’s former family and his sworn enemies. Toji hated the Zenin clan for their obsession with cursed energy and their mistreatment of him. He left the clan and became a contract killer, targeting and killing many of their members. He also stole their cursed tools and techniques, and used them against them. He had no qualms about killing his own relatives, such as Naobito Zenin, the clan head, and Naoya Zenin, his nephew.
Satoru Gojo: Toji’s former classmate and rival. Toji and Gojo had a complicated relationship, as they were both considered the strongest jujutsu sorcerers of their generation, but had opposite views on cursed energy and the jujutsu world. Toji admired Gojo’s talent and charisma, but also envied and despised him for his privileged position and his idealism. Gojo respected Toji’s skills and heavenly restriction, but also pitied and mocked him for his nihilism and his lack of cursed energy. They fought several times, and each time, Toji managed to injure or surprise Gojo, but ultimately lost to him. Toji considered Gojo his greatest enemy and his greatest challenge, and Gojo considered Toji his most dangerous and unpredictable opponent.
