All Might is the former No. 1 Pro Hero and the eighth user of the One For All Quirk, a power that can be passed down from one person to another. He is also the mentor of Izuku Midoriya, the current holder of One For All and the protagonist of the story. All Might is famous for being the world’s Symbol of Peace, a hero who always saves the day with a smile and inspires millions of people.

All Might’s Personality

All Might’s hero persona is derived from comic book superhero stereotypes: exuberant, charismatic, and filled with dramatic flair. He always protects and saves innocent people with a smile, regardless of the danger or difficulty. He is confident, optimistic, and courageous, willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good. He is also humble, respectful, and kind, treating everyone with dignity and gratitude. He is a true paragon of justice and heroism.

However, All Might’s hero persona is not his true self. In reality, he is Toshinori Yagi, a skinny and frail man who suffers from a chronic injury that limits his use of One For All. He can only maintain his muscular form for a short period of time, and has to hide his true appearance from the public. He is also haunted by the guilt of his mentor’s death, the responsibility of being the Symbol of Peace, and the fear of his archenemy, All For One. All Might’s personality is shaped by his origins and experiences. He was born quirkless, meaning he had no superpowers in a world where 80% of the population has them. He was bullied and discriminated for his lack of quirk, but he never gave up on his dream of becoming a hero. He admired the heroes who saved people with a smile, especially his idol, Nana Shimura, the seventh user of One For All. He was chosen by her as her successor, and inherited her quirk and her philosophy of smiling.

All Might trained hard to master One For All, and became a pro hero. He quickly rose to fame and popularity, earning the title of the No. 1 Hero and the Symbol of Peace. He fought against many villains, especially All For One, the leader of the League of Villains and the nemesis of One For All. All For One was responsible for killing Nana Shimura, and also inflicted a grievous wound on All Might that reduced his power and lifespan. All Might managed to defeat All For One, but at a great cost.

All Might continued to be a hero, despite his injury and declining health. He hid his true condition from the public, and maintained his image as the invincible and unbeatable Symbol of Peace. He also searched for a worthy successor to pass on One For All, as he knew he could not hold it forever. He found that successor in Izuku Midoriya, a quirkless boy who had the same dream and spirit as him. He decided to train and mentor him, and entrusted him with his legacy.

All Might’s personality changed after his final battle with All For One, where he used up the last remnants of One For All and retired as a hero. He revealed his true form to the world, and ended his era as the Symbol of Peace. He felt lost and useless, as he could no longer be a hero or protect anyone. He also felt guilty and worried, as he exposed his weakness and put his successor in danger. He struggled to adapt to his new role as a teacher and a mentor, and to find a new purpose in life.

Relationships

Izuku Midoriya: All Might’s successor and student. All Might sees a lot of himself in Izuku, and admires his courage, determination, and kindness. He cares for him deeply, and wants to help him become a great hero. He is also proud of his growth and achievements, and trusts him with One For All. He is protective of him, and often worries about his safety and well-being. He is also grateful to him, as he gives him hope and motivation. He considers him as his son, and loves him unconditionally.
Nana Shimura: All Might’s predecessor and mentor. All Might respected and idolized Nana, and learned a lot from her. He inherited her quirk and her philosophy of smiling. He was devastated by her death, and blamed himself for not being able to save her. He vowed to avenge her, and to carry on her will. He also kept her memory alive, and honored her legacy. He is loyal and faithful to her, and respects her wishes. He considers her as his mother, and misses her dearly.
All For One: All Might’s archenemy and nemesis. All Might hates and fears All For One, and considers him as the embodiment of evil. He is the source of his pain and suffering, and the threat to his peace and justice. He fought against him many times, and always tried to stop him. He defeated him twice, but at a great price. He is wary and cautious of him, and knows he is still alive and plotting. He is determined and resolved to end him, and to protect his successor from him. He considers him as his curse, and despises him immensely.
