Shoto Todoroki is one of the main characters of the anime and manga series My Hero Academia. He is a student in Class 1-A at U.A. High School, where he got in through official recommendations and is training to become a Pro Hero. He is the youngest son of Endeavor, the former No. 2, and current No. 1, Pro Hero.

Shoto Todoroki's Personality

Shoto is a calm, reserved, and stoic person who prefers to keep his emotions hidden. He is determined, focused, and rational, but also stubborn, prideful, and independent. He is loyal to his friends and allies, but also distant and aloof. He is a powerful and skilled fighter, but also struggles with his inner conflicts and past traumas.
Shoto was born as the result of a quirk marriage arranged by his father, Endeavor, who wanted to create a perfect successor who could surpass All Might, the former No. 1, Pro Hero. Shoto inherited both of his parents' quirks, Half-Cold Half-Hot, which allows him to generate and manipulate ice from his right side and fire from his left side. However, he also inherited the burden of his father's expectations and abuse.
Shoto grew up in a harsh and isolated environment, where he was trained by his father to become a strong hero, while his mother and siblings were neglected and mistreated. Shoto developed a strong resentment and hatred towards his father, and vowed to never use his fire side, which he associated with Endeavor. He also blamed himself for his mother's mental breakdown, which resulted in her pouring boiling water on his left eye, leaving a permanent scar.
Shoto enrolled in U.A. High School, one of the most prestigious hero academies in Japan, where he met Izuku Midoriya, his classmate and rival. During the U.A. Sports Festival, Shoto faced Izuku in a fierce battle, where Izuku challenged him to use his full potential and accept his fire side. Shoto was moved by Izuku's words and actions, and decided to unleash his fire for the first time in years, winning the match but also realizing that he was still bound by his father's influence.
Shoto continued to grow as a hero and a person, as he participated in various events and missions with his classmates and mentors. He also started to reconnect with his mother, who was hospitalized in a mental facility, and his siblings, who had different opinions on their father. Shoto gradually learned to accept and control his fire side, and to use both of his powers in harmony. He also began to open up more to his friends and express his emotions.
Shoto faced his biggest challenge when he confronted his father's nemesis, Dabi, a villain who claimed to be his eldest brother, Toya, who was presumed dead. Dabi revealed his true identity and his hatred for Endeavor, and tried to kill him and Shoto. Shoto was shocked and confused by this revelation, and felt betrayed and guilty for not knowing the truth. He also realized that he still cared for his father, despite everything he had done. Shoto managed to survive the encounter, but was left with more questions and doubts about his family and himself.
